SCSS SYMPOSIUM 2016
"Modelling Cell Fate & Development"
Welcome to the the Stem Cell Society Singapore's (SCSS) Symposium 2016 webpage. Our 8th Annual Symposium will be held on the 7- 8 November 2016 at Biopolis, Singapore.
We have put together a programme themed "Modeling Cell Fate & Development".
Synopsis of the Symposium: Each year the Singapore Stem Cell Society (SSCS) holds a scientific symposium that brings together the members of our society with local and international researchers who share a common interest in stem cells. One of the wonderful aspects about stem cell research is that it is leading to exciting discoveries in basic biology that are then being translated into treatments for diseases. Fundamental to translating basic research on stem cells into clinically viable applications is the ability to control cell fates. By directing stem cells into cell types of interest they can be used to model human diseases, to provide cells for transplantation, and to unearth fundamental concepts in developmental biology. The SSCS Symposium 2016 will focus on basic and translational research to understand and exploit the value of controlling stem cell fates.
Session Topics:
- Organoids
- LineageSpecification
- Neural Development
- Cardiac Development
- Regeneration
